How Can You Tell the Difference Between Cystic Fibrosis Symptoms and Asthma Symptoms in a Toddler?
Question by psbeezy: How can you tell the difference between cystic fibrosis symptoms and asthma symptoms in a toddler?
Is there any way without doing a sweat test? My son (he’s two) goes to the pediatric pulmonologist soon but I am really worried about this.

honestly both of my girls had the sweat test done and it is painless. I thank god every day that it is just asthma. I don’t think there is a way, that is why he is having a test done to determine which it is, because the characteristics are the same. In case you don’t know..they wrap his arm with cling wrap (the stuff you cover food with) and let it sit on his arm. it also has gauze stuck to his arm to collect the sweat. It is a simple procedure, my daughters have had many, i think the broncoscopy with endoscopy was the hardest for them. good luck
