(not really relating to cystic fibrosis just keep in mind that its recessive) what would be the probability of Cole and Karen’s child having cystic fibrosis? if: Cole’s child from a previous marriage had cystic fibrosis and karen’s brother had cf. neither karen or cole are affected by cf.

Assuming that cf is recessive and there are no other genes that affect inheritance of cf, and Cole’s child by a previous marriage had cf, then Cole is a carrier. Karen may or may not be a carrier. If Karen is a carrier, then Cole and Karen’s child has a 25 % chance of having cf. If Karen is not a carrier, then their child won’t have cf.
