does anyone have experience with an infant with cystic fibrosis?
my girlfriend has cystic fibrosis and has caught pneumonia. will she be ok?
My girlfriend has cystic fibrosis and 3 weeks ago suffered a collapsed lung. She was treated with 1 tube then 2 tubes in the chest as the 1 wasnt working. After another week she had an x-ray and the doctor said he feared her lung would collapse again if they removed the tubes so they decided to operate.
The next day she went down to theatre and had the operation and then was put on a ventilator for the next 48 hours. In that time she caught pneumonia. After 5 days of antibiotics i was told she was making improvements and getting stronger but then 2 days later was informed that the antibiotics had stopped working and to expect the worst. However now she has been put on a higher and stronger dosage of antibiotics and have been told it is clearing the infection. However im still extremely worried as i was told before she was improving.
Could you please tell me what her chances of survival are as i cant help but worry?
My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis and has gotten Pneumonia, could my new baby “catch” it?
My 15 year old daughter has Cystic Fibrosis and just got a bacterial pneumonia, she’s been in the hospital for now. I just had a baby recently, do you think its alright to bring the baby around her? I **** being away from my daughter and she wants to be able to see her little sister while she’s in the hospital. But do you think the baby could get pneumonia?

If two parents, are heterozygous carriers of the autosomal recessive gene causing cystic fibrosis,?
How would gene therapy treat certain diseases?
How can I get my mother to stop treating me like a baby constantly?
I have Cystic Fibrosis and I know I often get very ill and get infections because of it and do need help from my mother at those times. However, my mother is extremely over-protective and always has been. She literally loves to baby me and wait on me. She will make everything for me, do all my clothes for me, make my bed, food, etc.. She will want to do all my therapies and lay out all my medications for me. When I take a bath sometimes she just comes in and wants to wash my hair for me, even though I can do it myself. If I go out somewhere she calls like ten times. She likes to come in my room and lay next to me in my bed at night/sleep next to me because she’s afraid I’ll die in my sleep or something. I love my mother more than anything, she’s very loving, we’re close. She had me when she was only a teenager and has been a single mother to me…But she just wants to do everything for me and I feel its getting too much now because I’m a teenager and want to go to college soon and have my own life, but its like she doesn’t realize that. How can I get her to lay off a bit without hurting her feelings? When I tell her I can do something myself she does it anyway or says she can do it better than me. What should I do?
