My twin daughters are four and they want a dog or a cat but they have Cystic Fibrosis so I’m worried about the animal hair and germs from the animals if I got them pets because they are very prone to infections already and I’ve never had any animals around them in our house before. Would having dogs and/or cats around them be a problem?

Before i begin having children, I would like to be tested to see if I am a carrier for cystic fibrosis. The gene is in my husband’s family, so before getting pregnant I would like to know if I am as well

i have a new friend and he never really talks about his illness but i know he has one to do with his lungs, he got a lung translpant a long time ago and he is in the hospital from time to time, is there another lung-related illness or is this cystic fibrosis? how can you tell?

Cystic Fibrosis? If your a carrier, some dont say but does it affect you if your just a carrier?

My fraternal twin sister who has Cystic Fibrosis can eat the most fattening rich foods (not bad food but home-made food my mother always cooks) and she can eat big portions but she never seems to gain any weight and is very thin. She even has to have a feeding tube that gives extra nutrients. We are 16. Why is it that she just doesn’t seem to gain weight despite having the enzyme supplements and the feeding tube and so many calories?

Do you have Cystic Fibrosis and what do you use to expel mucus from lungs?

I have nephew 2 years old nephew just recently diagnosed with CF. doctor will not prescribe Pulmozyme saying that he is too young. What other choices we have besides chest therapies. We are using the VEST but the mucus is not being expelled.

Turmeric (curcumin) is the Asian spice that turns curry yellow. It is also added to yellow mustard to make it, well yellow. The turmeric plant is a relative of ginger and its medicinal qualities have been known for years. The German Commission E, an authoritative guide to herbal medicines, lists turmeric as effective for stomach (dyspeptic) conditions. Its actions which include increased bile flow and anti-inflammatory actions are well documented in experiments.

Turmeric prevents cystic fibrosis and Alzheimers disease in mice but some of the most impressive data involves cancer. Research at the University of Alabama demonstrated decreased production of the MDM2 cancer protein which then caused prostate cancer cells to die. More studies have demonstrated an impressive array of inhibitory effects on cancer cells at all three phases of carcinogenesis; induction, growth and metastasis (eCAM 2007;4:181). Not only can it prevent cancer formation but it also has activity to decrease cancer cell growth and prevent spread of cancer cells. The data are so impressive there are 7 clinical trials in humans studying the effect of turmeric on cystic fibrosis, chronic psoriasis, colon cancer and pancreatic cancer according to the National Institutes of Health.

So add a little exotic turmeric spice to your life and help prevent disease. Good health never tasted so good.
